Job description: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Labourer/Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team here in Calgary. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various wood processing machinery. You will also assist with assembly, packaging, and quality control processes to ensure products meet strict standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop technical skills in machining and manufacturing while contributing to efficient production workflows.
Available shifts:
1. AM shift: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
2. PM shift: 2:25 pm – 10:55 pm
Responsibilities:
• Set up and adjust machinery and other fabrication equipment for optimal performance
• Conduct quality control inspections utilizing calipers, measuring tapes, and other precision tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Assist with assembly tasks, ensuring components are correctly assembled using hand tools
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the warehouse or production area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Requirements:
• Prior experience as a General Labourer/Machine Operator or in a similar manufacturing role
• Proven experience operating saws or similar equipment and working in a warehouse is highly preferred
• Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting is a plus
• Basic tape measure and math skills for quality control
• Experience with quality control procedures
• Strong understanding of manufacturing safety standards and warehouse procedures
• Proficiency with hand tools, basic math, and mechanical troubleshooting skills are essential
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions, including cold temperatures.
