Job Overview: Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, as the Drafting Technician you are responsible for providing support throughout the design, construction, and close-out of projects, including multi-family, residential, and commercial projects.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Preparing drawings accurately and consistently with project specifications and requirements, including construction drawing sets, sales and marketing drawings, and preliminary site planning.
• Supporting the Project Manager throughout the project tender process, and completing building permit applications.
• Establishing standardized drafting practices, details and templates for CAD drawings.
• Qualifying materials required for projects and processing purchase orders.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date record-keeping system, including pricing and product information.
• Providing administrative support to other projects or duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements:
• Post-secondary education or certificate in Drafting, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Auto CAD Technician or related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Team, SharePoint and PowerPoint).
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior drafting experience would be an asset.

Working Conditions: You primarily work in an office setting during regular business hours. Travel to work sites within the city and surrounding areas may be required. Overtime may occasionally be required.
