Job Description:

The Training & Development Coordinator is a new position established to help identify, support and connect programs that meet the Building Supply industry's needs. This role will require engaging with members to build an understanding of the sector needs and developing and executing programming to train existing staff and interns.

The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, will be able to communicate the value of education programs to members and influence adoption of programs, will enjoy variety in their role, is adaptable to changing priorities and departmental needs, and has strong organization and time management skills.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and promoting training and professional development opportunities for Supply-Build Canada members and beyond to help professionalize the Building Supply industry.

The Training & Development Coordinator reports directly to the President, however, will collaborate with the entire staff team as necessary to achieve goals as outlined in the organizational strategic plan.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training Program Management & Development:

  • Plans, manages, and evaluates the delivery of training.
  • Develops or arranges development and updates of training to meet sector needs.
  • Develops diverse partnerships and collaborations with not-for-profit organizations and other training centres to enhance the delivery of Supply-Build Canada's training.
  • Builds and maintains an inventory of speakers, facilitators, and consultants with expertise in the building supply sector through networking and outreach.
  • Recruits, onboards, and evaluates training facilitators.
  • Works closely with the Marketing and Communications department to keep all print and online information current.
  • Writes content for promotional materials as necessary.
  • Consults members to assess industry data and gaps to ensure relevant training and development programs as established.
  • Attends events to promote programs as opportunities arise.

Member and Public Outreach:

  • Assists with seeking out potential funding opportunities, writes proposals, and maintains existing funding partnerships.
  • Ensures the completion of all funding requirements and reporting.
  • Plans, implements, and manages Supply-Build Canada's training presence at member events, trade shows, conferences, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Workforce Development Manager in developing training for intern placements and scholarship recipients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-5 years' experience in the areas of adult learning, training, and development.
  • Experience with program management in a not-for-profit setting an asset.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, adult education, human resources management, community development or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Proficient at creating plans, meeting deadlines, and multi-tasking.

  • Ability to develop and maintain partnerships with diverse community stakeholders.
  • Proficient using online tools, applications, and platforms such as Articulate Rise, Talent LMS, ClickUp, Microsoft Suite, etc.
