Job Description:

Swan Valley Co-op is hiring a Carpenter at our Home and Building (HABS) location in Swan River, MB.

What you’ll do:

The successful candidate is responsible for delivering excellent customer experiences in alignment with Swan Valley Co-op’s guiding statements; product installs for customers of cupboards, doors, etc. Building value added projects in our HABS division such as garden sheds, pre-built buildings, stair packages, etc.; and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards.

Core duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Designing, cutting, and measuring materials according to customer’s requirements.

• Conduct installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.

• Perform finish carpentry tasks, including hanging and installing doors, installing trim, molding, and other detailed woodwork.

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.

• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, and safety regulations using measuring tools.

• Work with a variety of tools including saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns.

• May assist the Supply & Install team as required.
